Your cat is approximately 15 human years old!

How Dog Years Work

The old “1 dog year = 7 human years” rule? Total myth.Dogs age way faster in their first couple of years, then it slows down. A 1-year-old dog is

roughly 15 in human years, and a 2-year-old is about 24. After that, add around 4-5 years for each dog year depending on size.

Small dogs (under 10kg) age slower than large dogs (over 25kg). Your tiny chihuahua might live to 18, while a Great Dane’s lucky to see 10.

How Cat Years Work

Cats are a bit simpler—but still not the 7-year rule.A 1-year-old cat is about 15 in human years, and by 2 years\oo around 24. After that, add roughly 4 years for each cat year.Indoor cats generally live longer (12-18 years) than outdoor cats (2-5 years), so keeping them inside makes a massive difference.H2: Why Does Pet Age Matter?Knowing your pet's "human age" helps you understand their health needs:Puppies & kittens (0-2 years): Growth, training, socialisation, vaccinations.Adults (3-6 years): Preventive care, parasite control, dental health.Seniors (7+ years): Arthritis, mobility issues, regular check-ups, pain management.Older pets need more attention.
