PMV

Personalised Mobile Vet was created for pets and people who do not do well in the usual clinic setup. Some animals are frightened by travel, waiting rooms, noise, handling, or being pushed through a rushed appointment. Some owners are dealing with age, illness, mobility issues, time pressure, or situations that are simply not straightforward. PMV exists to make veterinary care work better in the real world.

Care is provided at home, where your pet is in their own environment and there is more room to slow down, observe properly, and adapt the approach as needed. There are no fixed time limits on consultations, no KPIs, and no corporate pressure shaping what gets recommended. Advice is based on what is actually best for your pet, taking into account their temperament, health, home environment, and your circumstances. The goal is simple: honest, flexible, unhurried veterinary care that fits the patient in front of us, rather than forcing every patient into the same mould.

Dr Stu

I never set out to be “the mobile vet guy”. Early on, I was drawn to surgery — the precision, the problem-solving, and the hands-on nature of it. But after several years in busy clinics, I found I could not practise to my desired standard within the time restraints of the clinic setting. I also struggled with the use of KPIs, and with the moral dilemma of them being used to influence recommendations and remuneration.

I also learned that patience is one of the most underrated tools in veterinary medicine. A pet tells you more about their condition when they are calm, feel safe, and have time to settle. By instinct, if a pet does not feel safe, it will often hide signs of weakness or illness. When an animal is frightened, overwhelmed, or on edge, it becomes harder to properly assess what is going on.

That is what led me to build a practice around one simple idea: it just takes time.

Taking the time to let a pet adjust, feel safe, and be handled at their pace often gives a clearer picture of their health and makes the whole experience less stressful for everyone involved.

I’m the vet who will sit on your laundry floor until your dog decides it is safe to come closer. I will wait for your pet to adjust, because rushing that process helps no one. If I run late, it is usually because Fluffy was extra anxious today and needed a bit more time.

When I’m not on the road, you’ll usually find me with my now only child, Reggie, “fixing” something and somehow making it worse, working on garden projects, or attempting home improvements that turn into expensive learning experiences. I tend to give a lot of time and energy to the people and things I care about, and little to the things I don’t.

I’m fuelled by coffee, dry humour, and the satisfaction of seeing an animal finally relax. That’s the moment that matters most to me — not the clock, not the KPI, not the spreadsheet. Just the peace that comes when care and patience finally meet.

Jo Kutemann

Client connection and care

Jo joined the PMV team in December 2025 on a casual basis, stepping in to help wrangle the chaos of a one-man operation that desperately needed a hand. A schoolteacher by qualification, Jo brings organisation, compassion, and a no-nonsense approach to getting things done—she’s already knocked out more admin in 24 hours than some people manage in a month.

She’s the kind of person who’ll give anything a crack, keep you laughing through the tough days, and isn’t afraid to whip Dr. Stu into line when needed. Jo’s been through her share of challenges, and it’s given her a heart of gold and a genuine understanding of what it means to show up for people (and pets) when it matters most.

Whether you’re calling with a question, booking an appointment, or just need someone who gets it—Jo’s your person. You can joke with her, cry with her, and trust that she’ll make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

Digital Assistant

aka 'Emma'

Meet Emma Thompson, PMV’s digital assistant. Emma steps in as a backup when we cannot get to the phone, helping make sure calls are answered and messages are not missed.

Emma is not a real person. She is a digital assistant used to support communication and help keep things moving when Dr Stuart is with patients, driving, or otherwise unavailable. She can answer many common questions about PMV and help pass messages on quickly, but she does not replace direct veterinary advice or book appointments herself.

While Emma is designed to sound friendly and approachable, her role is simple: to help make it easier for people to reach PMV when immediate human contact is not possible.
